This is a day-use picnic shelter only. No overnight camping is allowed. The shelter is available for reservation for day-use events via Recreation.gov.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...The following counties, in southeast Indiana, Dearborn, Franklin and Ripley and the following counties, in southwest Ohio, Butler, Clinton, Hamilton and Warren. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and embedded thunderstorms will continue into tonight. One inch of rain is expected area wide with locally heavy rainfall possibly resulting in up to 3 inches in spots. This heavier rain could lead to flash flooding.

The Overlook Shelter is a day-use picnic area at Brookville Lake, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Situated near the Brookville Lake Dam, the shelter offers one of the best panoramic views in Indiana, overlooking the lake and dam structure. A short trail connects the site to the Brookville Lake Visitor Center. The covered pavilion features 4 deck tables and 12 wooden picnic tables, two cooking grills, electric plug-ins, and a water spigot. A modern restroom facility is located nearby, along with a popular playground. Parking accommodates up to 76 vehicles. The shelter can be reserved for special events such as weddings by purchasing a $50 Special Activity Permit, though the area remains open to the public even during reserved events. This is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping permitted.

From I-74, head west on Highway 52 for 15 miles to Brookville. Continue to State Route 101 North following signs to the Brookville Visitor Center for about a mile. Physical address: 10064 Overlook Rd, Brookville, IN 47012.
