About
Hueston Woods Day Use is a day-use facility, likely a picnic shelter or pavilion, located within Hueston Woods State Park in southwestern Ohio. This is NOT a campground and does not permit overnight stays. The facility is available for reservation through the Ohio State Parks reservation system for picnics, family gatherings, and group events during daylight hours. Hueston Woods State Park itself is a nearly 3,000-acre park surrounding 625-acre Acton Lake. The park offers extensive recreational opportunities including hiking through a 200-acre old-growth forest, fishing, boating, and fossil hunting. For visitors seeking overnight accommodations, the park has a separate campground with 255 electric sites and 236 non-electric sites, as well as a resort lodge and vacation cottages. Day-use areas in the park feature picnic tables and grills. Ohio State Parks do not charge entrance fees, so the park is free to visit during the day regardless of whether you have a shelter reservation.
