Hueston Woods Day Use area is part of the nearly 3,500-acre Hueston Woods State Park in southwestern Ohio, located near the Ohio-Indiana border in Butler and Preble counties. The park encompasses a 200-acre old-growth forest and Acton Lake, offering diverse outdoor recreation opportunities. Day use facilities provide access to the park's picnic areas, hiking trails spanning over 10 miles, mountain biking trails, bridle trails, beach access, and the nature center. The park features fossil hunting areas, a golf course, and marina facilities. Visitors can explore the Hueston Woods Nature Preserve, which protects the virgin forest, or enjoy water-based activities on Acton Lake including boating, fishing, and canoeing. The nature center is open daily year-round from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with interactive displays showcasing the park's history, geology, and native Ohio plants and wildlife. From College Corner, OH, head south on US-27 for approximately 2 miles. Turn right onto Todd Road, then right onto Butler Israel Road. Follow the signs to Hueston Woods State Park.
