About
Hoop Lake Campground is a seasonal Forest Service campground located at 9,000 feet elevation in the Uinta Mountains within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The 44-site campground sits on the shores of Hoop Lake and draws visitors for fishing, boating, hiking, and horseback riding. Easy access to Hoop Lake Trailhead provides entry to the High Uintas Wilderness.
The timbered campground offers standard nonelectric sites, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Vault toilets are available during the open season. There is no potable water on-site, so campers must bring all water they need. The area is designated bear country, and all food and trash must be stored securely.
Nearby Beaver Meadow Reservoir offers additional fishing opportunities. Wildlife viewing is excellent, with elk, deer, moose, beaver, and various bird species frequenting the area.
