About
Hittle Bottom Group Site is located along the banks of the Colorado River on scenic Highway 128, approximately 45 minutes from Moab. This group campground is designed for gatherings of up to 40 people and serves as a popular launch site for river trips down the Colorado River. The site offers sweeping vistas through canyon walls, with striking views of Fisher Towers, Professor Valley, and red rock formations characteristic of southeastern Utah.
The group site features fire grates, picnic tables, vault toilets, and a shade shelter. A boat ramp is available in the adjacent main campground for river access. The campground does not provide water, so visitors must bring their own supply. There are no electric hookups, dump stations, or showers on-site, though these amenities are available in Moab.
The location provides excellent access to outdoor recreation. The river corridor is filled with canyons, trails, and scenic vistas perfect for hiking and mountain biking. Highway 128 offers numerous four-wheel drive trails, and the Fisher Towers area provides hiking, rock climbing, and spectacular scenery. Arches National Park is about 45 minutes away, while Canyonlands National Park is approximately one hour's drive. The site is reservable through Recreation.gov up to six months in advance.
