About

Big Bend Group Sites consists of three distinct group camping areas managed by the Bureau of Land Management along Utah's scenic Highway 128. Group Sites A and B are situated within the main campground along the Colorado River, offering shade under mature cottonwood trees and access to a small beach area. Site A accommodates up to 40 people while Site B holds up to 20. Site C is located across SR 128 in a side canyon, providing a more secluded experience for up to 30 people, though without river access. All three sites feature spectacular red rock canyon views characteristic of the Moab area. Each group site includes fire rings with grates, picnic tables, shade shelters, and access to vault toilets with trash removal provided. No water, electricity, or dump stations are available on-site. The campground serves as an ideal base camp for exploring nearby Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Dead Horse Point State Park. The location is popular with groups interested in mountain biking, hiking, whitewater rafting on the Colorado River's daily section, rock climbing at the Big Bend Bouldering Area, and four-wheel drive touring. Moab is approximately 30 minutes away with full services including dining, shopping, gear rentals, and tour companies.

Directions

From Moab, drive north to the junction with Highway 128. Turn right and travel 8 miles along the river road. Group Sites A and B are in the main campground; Site C is up the dirt road directly across from the main campground.
