Headwaters Campground at Flagg Ranch occupies a prime location within the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway, serving as a gateway between Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The upper Snake River flows through surrounding meadows and open conifer forests, offering excellent fly fishing for cutthroat trout, brook trout, and whitefish. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with black and grizzly bears active throughout the area. The campground caters to all camping styles with 34 nonelectric tent sites, 97 full-hookup pull-through RV sites with water, sewer, and electric (20/30/50 amp), and 40 rustic camper cabins featuring bunk-style beds but no electricity. All sites include a picnic table, fire pit with metal grate, and food storage locker. Amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, coin-operated laundry, potable water spigots, a convenience store selling firewood and ice, and propane. Sheffields Restaurant and Saloon is available at the adjacent Headwaters Lodge. Strict food storage regulations apply due to bear activity. Pets must remain on a leash under 6 feet within 30 feet of roadways and are prohibited on trails and in the backcountry. Campfires are permitted in designated metal fire grates unless fire restrictions are in effect. Maximum stay is 14 nights, with a 30-night cumulative limit across all Grand Teton campgrounds.

Directions

From Jackson, head north on US 26/89/191 and turn left at Moran Junction. Continue north on US 89/191/287 for 22 miles to Flagg Ranch, then turn left and follow signs. From Yellowstone's South Entrance, drive two miles south on US 89/191/287, turn right at Flagg Ranch and follow signs.
