About

Greenbrier State Park sits in the scenic Appalachian Mountains of Washington County, Maryland, offering a well-developed camping experience centered around a 42-acre freshwater lake. The campground provides 165 sites spread across multiple loops, with 39 sites featuring electric hookups and 111 standard non-electric sites. Every site comes equipped with a fire ring, picnic table, and parking area. Facilities include bathhouses with hot showers, a dump station, and a park store. The lake serves as the park's main attraction, offering swimming at a sandy beach, boat rentals, and fishing opportunities. Canoes and kayaks can be launched from the boat ramp. Surrounding trails traverse varied terrain and wildlife habitats, revealing the region's unique geological features. An interpretive center provides educational programs. Pets are permitted in designated camping loops (Cedar and Dogwood). The campground operates seasonally from early April through late October, with reservations available up to a year in advance through Maryland's reservation system.
