About

Gambrill State Park's Rock Run Campground is nestled in the Catoctin Mountains of western Maryland, offering a forested retreat about 6 miles northwest of Frederick. The campground provides 19 non-electric campsites, 4 sites with 30-amp electric hookups, and 4 mini cabins that sleep four people each. Every campsite comes equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. The campground features a bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets, plus a dump station with potable water for RVs. Firewood is available for purchase at the bathhouse. The park surrounds campers with over 15 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, including access to the Catoctin Trail. Equipment length limits range from 20 to 30 feet depending on the site. Pets are welcome in the campground but must remain leashed and attended at all times. Only Cabin 18 permits pets among the mini cabins. Reservations are required throughout the camping season, which runs from early April through late October.
