Camp Greentop

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Camp Greentop offers a unique group camping experience in the forested mountains of northern Maryland. The facility accommodates up to 150 guests in cabin lodging: 12 main cabins sleeping 10 each, one lodge sleeping 12, and three smaller cabins. Five bathhouses provide flush toilets and hot showers. The dining hall seats 140 and features a commercial kitchen with electric ranges and ovens, while the recreation hall offers a large open room with stage for meetings or events. The camp includes extensive outdoor amenities: a swimming pool open Memorial Day through Labor Day (lifeguard required), athletic field, campfire ring, basketball courts, and outdoor chapel. Both the dining and recreation halls are heated and air-conditioned. Groups must provide their own kitchen utensils, pans, and cooking equipment. A certified food handler should be present when using the kitchen. Reservations are required and can be made through Recreation.gov. Check-in is between 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM; arriving after 4:30 PM forfeits access until the following morning. Check-out is by noon, with a ranger inspection of all facilities.

Directions

From the east, follow US Route 15 to MD 77. Drive about 6 miles. Turn right onto Foxville Deerfield Road. At the fork, bear right onto Manahan Road. At the intersection, turn right onto Park Central Road. Camp Greentop is on the right. From the west, take MD 64 and turn onto MD 77 East. Drive about 4 miles. Turn left onto Foxville Deerfield Road. At the fork, bear right onto Manahan Road. At the intersection, turn right onto Park Central Road. Camp Greentop is on the right.
