About

Owens Creek Campground offers primitive tent camping in the rolling hills of Catoctin Mountain Park. The campground sits along Owens Creek, providing a peaceful setting beside a bubbling brook surrounded by hardwood forest. All 50 sites feature wood chip tent pads (minimum 12' x 12'), picnic tables, and fire rings. Centrally located amenities include flush toilets, free hot showers, and potable water. The Deerfield Nature Trail connects directly to the campground, offering a 1.5-mile loop with access to the park's western trail system. Nearby Browns Farm Trail in Owens Creek Picnic Area provides a youth-friendly archaeology experience. Catoctin Mountain Park boasts 25 miles of trails ranging from easy to strenuous. The area offers beautiful scenery year-round, from spring wildflowers to brilliant fall foliage. Three sites are ADA accessible, and three sites offer pull-through access for trailers up to 22 feet. Maximum RV length is 30 feet. No hookups are available. Firewood is sold on-site, and campers may collect dead and downed wood. Outside firewood is prohibited to prevent invasive species.
