About

Granite Creek Campground is nestled in a wooded valley between high mountain peaks in the heart of Bridger-Teton National Forest, adjacent to the Gros Ventre Wilderness. The campground's 51 sites stretch along the designated Wild and Scenic Granite Creek, providing excellent trout fishing opportunities right from camp. The area's dramatic mountain scenery and wildlife make it a prime destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The nearby Granite Creek Hot Springs offers a unique attraction for campers seeking relaxation after a day of adventure. The natural hot springs pool, operated by a concessionaire, provides stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Multiple trailheads in the Granite Creek corridor provide access to hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking routes into the Gros Ventre Wilderness and surrounding backcountry. Bears are active throughout the camping season, and all food, coolers, toiletries, and scented items must be stored in the provided bear-resistant storage boxes or locked vehicles. The campground is located approximately 33 miles from Jackson, Wyoming, via US-189 and Granite Creek Road.

Directions

From Jackson, WY: Head southwest on US-189 for 13 miles to Hoback Junction. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto US-189 East/US-191 East for 11 miles. Turn left on Granite Creek Road (Forest Road 30500). After 1 mile it becomes Granite Road; continue 7 miles to the campground on the right. Total distance: 33 miles, approximately 48 minutes.
