About
Curtis Canyon Campground provides an ideal balance between convenience and seclusion, located just 16 minutes from downtown Jackson yet tucked into the woods above the National Elk Refuge. The campground's 12 sites offer quick access to expansive views of both the National Elk Refuge and the Teton mountain range, making it a popular spot for campers who want proximity to town without sacrificing the camping experience. The campground sits within the Bridger-Teton National Forest along Curtis Canyon Road, providing easy access to hiking and horseback riding trails that radiate from the area. Despite being close to Jackson, the wooded setting maintains a peaceful atmosphere. A single dumpster and food storage box are available for all campers, and bear food storage regulations are in effect. All sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis and accommodate a maximum of two vehicles per site. Basic amenities include vault toilets and a hand pump for drinking water. The campground typically fills by early afternoon during peak season, so early arrival is recommended for those seeking a spot during summer months.
Directions
