About

Kozy Campground is positioned along the scenic Hoback River within the Bridger-Teton National Forest, approximately 26 miles southeast of Jackson, Wyoming. The campground's location in a less-trafficked stretch of the Hoback River corridor makes it an ideal destination for anglers seeking excellent trout fishing without the crowds found near Hoback Junction and the Snake River confluence. The peaceful riverside setting provides direct access to quality fishing waters. The campground contains 8 single-unit campsites operated on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Each site accommodates up to 2 vehicles and includes a fire pit and picnic table. A hand pump provides drinking water during the operating season, and vault toilets serve the campground. The facility is accessible from US Highway 189/191, making it convenient for both tent campers and RVs, though hookups are not available. Kozy Campground serves as a practical base for exploring the broader Hoback River area and nearby Gros Ventre Wilderness. The surrounding national forest offers hiking, wildlife viewing, and backcountry access. The campground's distance from Jackson provides a quieter camping experience while maintaining reasonable access to town amenities and the attractions of the Greater Yellowstone area.
