About
Glass Creek Campground offers a rustic, no-fee camping experience in the Inyo National Forest north of Mammoth Lakes. Situated at 7,600 feet in a pine forest setting, the 66 dry campsites provide a first-come-first-served option for those who prefer flexibility over reservations. The sites are notably large, with many accommodating RVs up to 45 feet in length. This is a primitive campground with vault toilets and picnic tables but no potable water, so campers must bring their own water supply. There are no hookups available. The location serves as an excellent base for exploring the nearby Owens River Headwaters and the volcanic glass formations at Obsidian Dome. Bear activity is common in this area, and proper food storage is required. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., with a 5 mph speed limit throughout the campground. Sites are limited to 6 people and 2 vehicles, except for the double site which allows 12 people and 4 vehicles. A 14-day stay limit applies.
