About

Big Springs Campground sits at 7,300 feet elevation in a pine forest setting between Mammoth Lakes and June Lake, near the Crestview area of Inyo National Forest. The campground offers 26 primitive sites on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations and no fees. Each site accommodates up to 6 people and 2 vehicles. Amenities are basic: vault toilets and picnic tables are provided, but there is no potable water. Bear-proof food lockers are provided at each site and their use is mandatory. The campground has bear-proof trash receptacles. This location serves as a popular basecamp for fishing Deadman Creek, exploring the volcanic glass formations at Obsidian Dome, and accessing OHV/ATV trails in the Lookout Mountain area. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM, and a 14-day stay limit applies.
