Both campgrounds are open. Sam Stowe Campground operates year-round with full services. Castle Rock Campground is open April 15 through October 31 with limited services: water systems are currently off and flush restrooms are unavailable, though vault toilets remain functional. The first 10 sites at Castle Rock are first-come, first-served. The museum exhibits are closed for renovations but the visitor center and gift shop remain open daily 9am-5pm.

Fremont Indian State Park and Museum sits along Interstate 70 in Clear Creek Canyon, approximately 20 miles south of Richfield, Utah. The park preserves one of the largest known Fremont Indian villages, discovered during highway construction in 1983, with over 500 rock art panels and thousands of artifacts. The surrounding canyon landscape provides a striking backdrop for camping and hiking. Sam Stowe Campground operates year-round with 10 full hookup sites featuring 30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer connections. Two cabins and an ADA-accessible modernized pit house offer upgraded lodging with amenities like mini-fridges and microwaves. A large tent-only group site accommodates up to 75 people. Facilities include flush restrooms, coin-operated showers, and laundry. Castle Rock Campground operates seasonally from mid-April through October, offering 31 sites including two teepees for a unique overnight experience. The campground accommodates RVs up to 40 feet and features vault toilets, fire pits, and picnic tables at each site. The first 10 sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis while others accept reservations.
