About

Franz Jevne State Park is Minnesota's smallest state park, a secluded 118-acre preserve along the Rainy River that forms the international boundary between the United States and Canada. The campground offers 21 rustic sites tucked into riverside forest, including 18 drive-in sites and 3 walk-in sites. Two of the drive-in sites feature electric hookups for those wanting a bit more convenience. The campground provides basic but functional amenities including vault toilets, hand-pump potable water, fire rings, and picnic tables. Many sites feature distinctive Adirondack-style picnic table shelters that offer some protection from the elements. The park's boat launch provides direct access to the Rainy River, where anglers pursue walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, and lake sturgeon. About 2.5 miles of hiking trails wind through the riverside forest, offering excellent opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife viewing. This is a true get-away-from-it-all destination with no cell service and minimal development, ideal for campers seeking solitude and natural beauty in far northern Minnesota.
