Zippel Bay State Park Group Campground sits on the shores of Lake of the Woods in Minnesota's remote northwest corner, about 10 miles northeast of Williams. The group site (GC1) accommodates up to 45 people and is designed for reunions, Scout troops, and other groups wanting to pitch multiple tents in close proximity. The site offers drive-in access, a vault toilet, fire ring with grill, and picnic tables, though campers must bring their own water as none is available at the group camp. The park itself features over two miles of sandy beach stretching along Lake of the Woods, making it a prime destination for swimming, fishing, and boating. A protected marina with a stone jetty provides easy lake access, and a fishing pier offers excellent walleye and northern pike opportunities. The main campground area has accessible shower facilities and a dump station available to all park guests. The group camp operates seasonally from mid-May through October.
