Anglers Campground

Closed — Closed for the season. The campground operates from April through late October, with showers and dump station typically available mid-May through September. Winter camping is not available at Zippel Bay State Park.

About

Anglers Campground is located at Zippel Bay State Park on the shores of Lake of the Woods, one of the world's largest lakes spanning 55 miles wide with over 14,000 islands. As the most popular and accessible of the park's four campgrounds, Anglers Campground features 16 non-electric campsites arranged in a wooded loop that can accommodate both tents and large RVs. The campground shares a road with the park's marina, providing convenient access for boaters and anglers. Zippel Bay State Park is renowned for its spring fishing when spawning trophy-sized northern pike enter the bay, as well as excellent walleye, perch, and other fishing year-round. The park offers nearly 3,000 acres of forest, two miles of white sand beach, a 90-foot fishing pier, protected marina with boat ramp, and fish cleaning facilities. The beach area features unique underwater sandbars stretching hundreds of feet, making it popular for swimming and wading. Campground amenities include vault toilets and hand pump water access. The park provides shower facilities and a dump station during peak season. Birders will appreciate the abundant wildlife including bald eagles, pelicans, sandhill cranes, and various waterfowl. The park offers hiking trails and free equipment rentals including canoes, birding kits, and fishing poles from the park office.

Anglers Campground is located within Zippel Bay State Park in Williams, Minnesota. From Williams, head north on County Road 8 for approximately 10 miles, then follow park signs to the campground.
