Fox Creek Group Camp is situated in a large, open area surrounded by dense forest near the point where Fox Creek flows into the Breitenbush River at 1,700 feet elevation. The group site caters to groups of up to 75 guests with ample parking and accommodates tent campers plus RVs and trailers of any size. The campground is equipped with an accessible vault toilet, dumpster, campfire rings, and picnic tables. No drinking water is available on site. The campground serves as a central access point to miles of scenic hiking trails in Willamette National Forest, which boasts 1,700 miles of trails including routes through the nearby Mount Jefferson Wilderness. Campers can fish and swim in the Breitenbush River, where rainbow trout is the most common catch. Detroit Lake is within 10 miles for power boating, water skiing, and canoeing. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance via Recreation.gov. Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Contact the Detroit Ranger Station for the gate combination before arrival if not included with your reservation.

Directions

From Highway 22 at Detroit, turn north onto Breitenbush Road (Forest Service Road 46) and continue for 6.3 miles to Fox Creek Group Camp.
