About

Fort Washington Park Day Use Facilities is a collection of eight reservable group picnic areas within Fort Washington Park, a National Park Service site located along the Potomac River in Prince George's County, Maryland. This is a day-use facility only with no overnight camping. The park is situated 15 miles south of Washington, D.C. and four miles south of National Harbor. The picnic areas feature tables under shade trees adjacent to large open fields, with charcoal grills available for cooking. Area B includes a playground, and a basketball court is located near Area C. Both recreational facilities are open to all park visitors during regular hours. The park also offers hiking and biking trails, and the historic 19th-century masonry fort built in 1824 is open for tours. Reservations are made through Recreation.gov, with permits valid from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm or sunset. Park Rangers staff the Visitor Center year-round, Wednesday through Sunday.
