Smallwood State Park Family Campground, located in Marbury, Maryland, offers a serene camping experience under a hardwood forest canopy. The campground features 15 RV and tent campsites, each equipped with electric hookups, a picnic table, lantern post, and fire ring. Additionally, there are six rustic camper cabins that sleep four and two cabins that sleep six, all furnished with heat and air conditioning. Bathhouse facilities with hot showers are available for campers' convenience. The park provides various recreational opportunities, including hiking trails, fishing, and boating. The Sweden Point Marina within the park offers 50 boat slips and access to the Potomac River, making it a popular spot for anglers and boating enthusiasts. For history enthusiasts, the park is home to Smallwood's Retreat, the restored plantation house of General William Smallwood, a Revolutionary War officer and former governor of Maryland. The house is open to visitors seasonally, offering a glimpse into the area's rich history. Campers should be aware of specific regulations, such as the prohibition of alcohol and the requirement for quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Generators are permitted between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. only.

From Route 301 south to La Plata, head west on Route 225 to Route 224. Turn left (south) at the light on Route 224; the park entrance is approximately 3 miles on the right.
