About

Mason Neck State Park is a day-use only facility situated on a peninsula formed by Pohick Bay, Belmont Bay, and the Potomac River in Fairfax County, Virginia. The park is known for its bald eagle habitat and diverse ecosystems but does not offer overnight camping of any kind. The group picnic shelter can be reserved through the Virginia State Parks Customer Service Center. The universally accessible shelter features a gravel and stone dust surface with an accessible pathway, seven picnic tables including one wheelchair-accessible table, and a large pedestal charcoal grill. Restrooms are located approximately 60 feet from the shelter. No electric outlets or water hydrants are available at the shelter itself. Renters must vacate by park closing (sunset). Additional tents, tables, or grills are not permitted. Parking fees are not included in shelter rental. Two accessible parking spaces are available in the unpaved lot near the shelter.
