Cedarville State Forest Campground sits within a 3,700-acre forest in southern Maryland, offering 38 family campsites across two loops. The Hickory Loop provides both electric sites (30-amp, inner loop) and primitive sites (outer loop), with pets allowed. The Ironwood Loop offers primitive camping with sites 38-41 designated for horse camping; pets are not permitted on this loop. Every site features a picnic table, fire ring with grill, and lantern post, while centrally located bathhouses provide restrooms and showers. Water spigots are distributed throughout the loops. The forest encompasses over 50 tree species and serves as a gateway to 19+ miles of trails open to hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. The landscape features mixed hardwoods, Virginia pine, loblolly pine, and bottomland hardwood areas. Fishing and hunting opportunities are available in season. Two youth group camping areas (Pine Grove Loop and White Oak Loop) accommodate organized groups of up to 40 people with adult supervision requirements. A dump station is available on site. The campground operates seasonally from April through October, with a two-night minimum stay from Memorial Day through Labor Day and three-night minimums on holiday weekends.
