Herbicide Treatments at Ebey's Reserve
Please be advised that NPS personnel will be treating invasive non-native grasses at the Prairie Overlook.
Race the Reserve at Overlook
The Race the Reserve Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k and 5k will be running August 11th along the Pratt Loop Trail and the Ebey's Ridge Trail. Hikers should be advised, and vehicle traffic may be affected. Use caution when driving to the Prairie Overlook.
Wildfire Smoke Alert
As of 8/20, There is a Stage 1 air quality burn ban in effect in Island County and throughout Ebey's Reserve until further notice. This ban includes recreational campfires & fire pits. Violators could face fines and other enforcement actions.
Kettles Trail Maintenance
Island County Public Works will begin Kettles Trail maintenance during the second week of November, 2018. This will impact bicycles & pedestrian traffic. The wooden bridge trail crossings between Ebey Road and Sherman Road will also be replaced.
About
Fort Casey Historical State Park is a 467-acre marine camping park on Whidbey Island offering a unique blend of history, coastal beauty, and outdoor recreation. The campground features 35 sites positioned along Keystone Spit with panoramic views of Admiralty Inlet and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Twenty-one standard sites accommodate tent campers, while 14 utility sites provide water and electric hookups for RVs up to 40 feet. Four beachfront pull-through sites offer prime waterfront camping. The park preserves a coast artillery post built in the 1890s to defend Puget Sound, featuring two 10-inch and two 3-inch historic guns on display. The restored 1903 Admiralty Head Lighthouse operates as an interpretive center with a gift shop and tower access for visitors. The park's 10,810 feet of saltwater shoreline includes Keystone Spit, a two-mile stretch separating Admiralty Inlet from Crocket Lake. Recreation opportunities include beach exploration, scuba diving at the Keystone Underwater Dive Park, saltwater fishing, boating from the boat launch, and 1.8 miles of hiking trails connecting to the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail. The park provides restrooms, showers, drinking water, and picnic facilities. Campers should note that U.S. Navy jets from nearby Naval Air Station Whidbey Island may fly overhead during training missions. The campground operates year-round with Level 1 burn restrictions allowing fires in designated pits.

Located on Whidbey Island at 1280 Engle Road, Coupeville, WA 98239. Accessible via the Keystone Ferry from Port Townsend or by driving north on Highway 20 from the Mukilteo Ferry. A Washington State Discover Pass is required for day use.
