Quarry Pond Campground

Open — Open year-round for reservations. Water spigots are turned off for winter and will remain off through mid-March, with exact dates weather-dependent. Campers should bring their own water supply during winter months.

About

Quarry Pond Campground at Deception Pass State Park provides year-round camping on Whidbey Island, making it the park's primary winter camping destination. The campground offers 23 sites suitable for both tents and RVs, along with 7 primitive cabins available for rent. The campground is named for its scenic one-acre rock-rimmed pond that adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Sites include picnic tables and fire pits, with restroom facilities featuring coin-operated showers centrally located in the campground. A kitchen shelter and gazebo provide covered gathering spaces for campers. Located on the east side of State Route 20, Quarry Pond offers a quieter, more intimate camping experience compared to the park's larger Cranberry Lake campground complex. Despite its smaller size, campers have full access to Deception Pass State Park's 4,134 acres spanning two islands, including over 38 miles of hiking trails, tide pools at Rosario Beach, and the iconic Deception Pass Bridge. The campground's year-round operation makes it an excellent base for winter camping, though water spigots are turned off from December through mid-March.
