About
Camano Island State Park sits on the southwest shore of Camano Island, where 134 acres of second-growth forest meet over a mile of rocky saltwater shoreline on Saratoga Passage. The campground splits into two loops: the lower loop remains open year-round, while the upper loop operates from May through September and features several pull-through sites better suited for RVs. All 77 standard campsites are reservable during peak season (mid-May through mid-September) and first-come, first-served during the off-season. The park provides modern amenities including restrooms with hot showers, potable water, and a dump station. Two hiker/biker sites and one primitive Cascadia Marine Trail site are available first-come, first-served. A group camp accommodates up to 100 people with dedicated facilities. Five forest cabins offer roofed accommodations for those wanting more shelter. Beyond camping, the park features hiking trails through old-growth timber, a boat launch on Saratoga Passage, and beaches known for tidepooling and wildlife observation. The park serves as an important stop on the Cascadia Marine Trail for paddlers exploring Puget Sound.
