About

Camano Island State Park is a 134-acre camping park located on the western side of Camano Island, offering 6,700 feet of rocky shoreline and beach with sweeping views of Puget Sound, Saratoga Passage, Whidbey Island, the Olympic Mountains, and Mount Rainier. The park provides a peaceful forested retreat with opportunities for beach exploration, hiking, boating, fishing, crabbing, scuba diving, and swimming. The campground features 77 standard reservable campsites with nearby restrooms and showers, 5 forest cabins that sleep up to five people each with peek-a-boo water views, one group camp for up to 100 people, and 2 hiker/biker sites available first-come, first-served. The lower loop campsites are open year-round while the upper loop operates from May through September. Several upper loop sites are pull-throughs better suited for RVs up to 40 feet. The park also offers a Cascadia Marine Trail primitive campsite for paddlers arriving by human or wind-powered watercraft. Four miles of trails loop through the forest and connect to nearby Cama Beach Historical State Park. The park features a boat launch at Lowell Point, picnic facilities including a reservable kitchen shelter, and an amphitheater where interpretive programs are held every Saturday during summer. Wildlife viewing is excellent with opportunities to spot deer, rabbits, chipmunks, eagles, herons, and marine mammals including orcas and harbor seals. Clamming is currently closed indefinitely for conservation efforts.
