About
Cranberry Lake Campground sits in a stunning old-growth forest setting on Whidbey Island, serving as the primary camping hub at Washington's most-visited state park. The campground is divided into two main areas: the Forest Loop with 78 sites (primarily hookup sites) and the Lower Loops with 156 sites (primarily standard sites). Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with water access nearby for standard sites. The campground provides excellent amenities including five of six restrooms with showers, flush toilets throughout, and a dump station at the top of the hill for registered campers. A camp store operates between the campground loops during peak season. Swimming is available at Cranberry Lake, and the park offers easy access to beaches, hiking trails, and the iconic Deception Pass Bridge. Special accommodations include walk-in tent sites, hiker/biker sites for those arriving on foot or bicycle, and ADA-accessible sites. The campground operates seasonally from spring through fall, with reservations available up to 9 months in advance through Washington State Parks.
Directions
From Seattle, drive north on I-5 to exit 230, then travel 18 miles west on SR 20 toward Oak Harbor. The park entrance is on the right, one mile south of Deception Pass Bridge.
