North Central Wayne County in southern Utah... * Until 530 PM MDT. * At 435 PM MDT, State Park personnel reported flash flooding in Little Wildhorse Canyon from earlier thunderstorms. These storms produced heavy rain across portions of the San Rafael Swell including Goblin Valley, Little Wildhorse, Crack, Chute, Ding, Dang, Muddy Creek and all slot canyons and dry washes in and near southern Emery and north central Wayne County. Between 0.25 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. This is an extension of the prior Flash Flood Warning for this area. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...State Park personnel reported. Southeastern Sanpete County in central Utah... * WHEN...Until 545 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 418 PM MDT, emergency management reported high flows on Cottonwood Creek from heavy rainfall, with water approaching the bridge on Main Street in Orangeville. Flooding is also occurring in Welcome Park in Orangeville. Up to 2 inches of rain has fallen according to radar estimates, with the most rainfall updrainage from Castle Dale and Huntington. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Deep moisture will continue to support thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the watch area through Monday evening, particularly during the afternoon and evening. The Equestrian Campground offers a purpose-built facility for horse campers in the heart of Utah's San Rafael Swell Recreation Area. Situated just downstream from the San Rafael Swinging Bridge Campground along the scenic San Rafael River, the campground provides six sites specifically designed to accommodate equestrians with their trailers and horses. Each campsite features a pullout large enough for a vehicle and horse trailer, an individual corral, tent pad, picnic table, fire ring, and access to vault toilets. A central holding pen with three separate stalls offers additional horse containment options. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis at $15 per night. Campers should come prepared as there is no potable water and no trash service. All trash must be packed out. Cell phone reception is limited depending on carrier. Nearby recreation includes hiking, horseback riding along the river corridor, and exploring the dramatic canyon country of Buckhorn Draw and the Little Grand Canyon overlook.
