About

East Park campground is located on the shore of East Park Reservoir in the eastern Uinta Mountains of Ashley National Forest. The campground offers 21 campsites with basic amenities in a scenic, remote setting. The reservoir provides excellent rainbow trout fishing opportunities, and the area is well-known as a fantastic waterfowl hunting destination. Two trailheads provide hiking access from the campground—one at the north end of the lake leading east to US 191, and another at the south end leading west to Oaks Park Lake. The campground features vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own drinking water. There is no trash service, and visitors are required to pack out all trash, especially during shoulder seasons. The campground is accessed via forest roads from Vernal, traveling 20 miles north on US 191, then 4.5 miles northwest on Forest Road 018, followed by 7 miles north on Forest Road 020. The maximum RV length is 25 feet due to site limitations.
