About

Canyon Rim Campground occupies a grassy meadow high above Flaming Gorge Reservoir in Utah's Ashley National Forest. At 7,400 feet elevation along Red Canyon Road, the 18-site campground offers paved sites with picnic tables and fire rings, vault toilets, and seasonal potable water. Lodgepole and ponderosa pines dot the landscape, providing limited shade while summer wildflowers brighten the meadow. Nearby Greens Lake offers excellent canoeing and fishing for rainbow and brook trout, with Red Canyon Lodge on its shore providing canoe and bike rentals, horseback riding, a restaurant, and gift shop. The Red Canyon Rim Trail begins at the nearby visitor center and accommodates both hikers and mountain bikers. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is renowned for world-class fishing for lake, brown, and rainbow trout, along with boating, water skiing, kayaking, and swimming. Flaming Gorge Dam offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant, and the Green River below the dam provides spectacular rafting through unique geology and Native American rock art.
