About

Iron Springs Group Campground is located approximately 5 miles off U.S. Highway 191 along the Red Cloud Loop Scenic Backway in Ashley National Forest, Utah. At 9,200 feet elevation, the campground sits at the edge of a grassy meadow bordered by shady pines and aspens, with sagebrush and summer wildflowers dotting the landscape. The two group sites each accommodate up to 50 people and 50 vehicles, featuring picnic tables, campfire circles, vault toilets, and large gravel pull-through parking areas. The Red Cloud Loop offers scenic driving on a maintained dirt road with miles of trails for ATVs, hikers, and mountain bikers. East Park and Oaks Park Reservoirs are less than 10 miles away, both stocked with catchable rainbow trout. Brush Creek Caves nearby are popular for caving and geocaching. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area and the Ashley-Karst National Geologic Recreation Area provide additional recreation opportunities including world-class fishing, boating, rafting on the Green River, and exploring dramatic canyons and cave networks.
