Digit Point Campground

Closed — Closed for the season. The campground typically operates from late June through mid-October, with reduced services beginning October 1. Forest Service Road 9772 closes during winter due to snow.

Alcohol Prohibitions

This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.

Aquatic Invasive Species

This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.

Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products

This Order prohibits unloading, storing, or using any straw, hay, grain, seed, or other forage or mulch products that are not state-certified weed free on the National Forest System lands, roads or trails in any Closure Area as specific in the Order.

Fremont-Winema National Forest 14 Day Stay Limit

Pursuant to 16 USC § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited upon all lands, roads, and trails administered by the Fremont-Winema National Forest as described in this order.

About

Digit Point Campground is located on the south shore of Miller Lake in the Fremont-Winema National Forest, offering a peaceful forest setting with excellent fishing and hiking opportunities. The campground places many of its 64 sites on the lakeshore with scenic views of Miller Lake and Mt. Thielsen. A dense growth of mixed conifers including hemlock, white pine, white fir, and sugar pine provides ample shade throughout the campground. Miller Lake is known for its brown, rainbow, and brook trout, as well as Kokanee salmon, with 24-hour fishing allowed. The campground offers a full array of activities including boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, and biking. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with osprey, eagles, loons, and grebes commonly seen in the area. Note that June and July bring heavy mosquito activity. The Miller Lake Trail loop is a five-mile hiking trail that explores part of the Mt. Thielsen Wilderness and provides access to both the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail and Maidu Trail. Motorized and mechanized vehicles are prohibited within the Mt. Thielsen Wilderness. The campground is located at the end of Forest Service Road 9772, approximately 12 miles from Highway 97.

Directions

From Chemult, take U.S. Highway 97 north towards Crescent for approximately one mile, then turn left onto Forest Service Road 9772. Follow FS Road 9772 to its end at Miller Lake where the campground is located.
