About
Located on the west shore of Diamond Lake in Oregon's Umpqua National Forest, Thielsen View Campground takes its name from the dramatic view of Mount Thielsen's iconic spire rising across the water. The campground sits in the shadow of majestic Mount Bailey, offering campers a front-row seat to stunning alpine scenery and reliable sunrises over the lake. Diamond Lake is stocked annually with 300,000 rainbow trout, making this campground a perennial favorite among anglers. The John Dellenback Trail, an 11-mile paved loop around the lake, passes through the campground and provides excellent hiking and biking opportunities. Mount Bailey and Rodney Butte trailheads are less than five minutes away by car, and nearby Crater Lake National Park offers additional volcanic landscape exploration. All 60 sites are reservation-only and set beneath a mixed conifer canopy that provides welcome shade during summer. Each loop has water spigots, gray water sumps, and vault toilets. Campers have free access to the Thielsen View Boat Ramp. The maximum vehicle length is 35 feet.
