About

Deer Creek Campground is a free, first-come-first-served dispersed camping area located along Deer Creek Road in the Superior Ranger District of the Lolo National Forest. The area provides five primitive campsites with fire rings, suitable for tent camping or small RVs and trailers. At an elevation of approximately 3,200 feet, the campground sits roughly 2.5 miles from the DeBorgia exit off I-90, after crossing the St. Regis River. This is a true pack-it-in, pack-it-out area with minimal amenities. A vault toilet is available, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The surrounding area offers stream fishing, hiking trails, and seasonal foraging for mushrooms and berries. The campground is typically open year-round depending on snow conditions. Due to its dispersed nature and remote setting, the campground is best suited for self-sufficient campers comfortable with primitive conditions. Large RVs are not recommended due to site constraints.

Directions

From I-90, take DeBorgia Exit #18. Westbound travelers go south under the interstate to Deer Creek Road #236. Eastbound travelers turn right onto Deer Creek Road #236. At the T-intersection, turn right and travel approximately 2.5 miles, crossing the St. Regis River. The dispersed camping area is on your right.
