About

Gold Rush Campground sits in a forested, shady canyon bottom along a stream in the Plains/Thompson Falls area of Lolo National Forest. The primitive campground offers a peaceful setting for tent camping and provides access to the Gold Rush Trail, which begins near campsite #4 and climbs steeply to the CC Divide. This is a no-fee, first-come, first-served campground with no reservations. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring. A vault toilet is available on site but closes October 31. Campers must bring their own drinking water as none is available. Pets are allowed but must be kept on leash; horses and pack animals are prohibited.

Directions

From Thompson Falls, travel west on Prospect Creek Road for 2 miles. Turn left (east) on Cherry Creek Road. Turn right (south) on Dry Creek Road #352 for 6 miles. Campground is on the right (west) side near the 6-mile marker.
