About
Deep Creek Horse Camp is a backcountry equestrian facility located in the eastern Cascades within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Situated along Forest Road 1808 off Bumping River Road, the campground serves as a gateway to the William O. Douglas Wilderness with direct access to Twin Sisters Trail #980. Designed specifically for horse camping, this remote site previously offered vault toilets and designated camping areas for visitors with stock animals. The location provides a staging area for wilderness exploration in a lightly used area of the forest. Water can be obtained from nearby Deep Creek with proper treatment. The campground is accessed via approximately 48 miles of forest roads from Naches, making it a destination for those seeking remote wilderness experiences with their horses. Previous fees were $10 per night for single sites with an additional $5 vehicle fee.
Directions
From Naches travel west on Highway 12 for 4.4 miles. Continue straight onto Highway 410 W for 27.5 miles. Turn left onto Bumping River Road (Forest Road 1800) and travel 13.5 miles, then stay left on Forest Road 1808 before crossing Deep Creek to travel another 7 miles to reach the campground. Note: Forest Road 1808 is currently washed out and inaccessible.
