About
Barton Creek campground is a Forest Service facility located in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Yakima County, Washington. The campground sits in the rugged terrain of the eastern Cascade Range, where the forest transitions from dense old-growth valleys to high alpine peaks. The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest encompasses over 3.8 million acres of diverse landscapes along the east slope of the Cascades. As a smaller, more remote Forest Service campground, Barton Creek offers a rustic camping experience typical of national forest facilities in the region. The area features mixed conifer forests and provides access to the natural beauty of the Cascades. The campground's location in Yakima County places it within reach of numerous recreational opportunities including hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Like many Forest Service campgrounds at higher elevations in the Cascades, Barton Creek operates seasonally, typically closing during winter months when snow and road conditions make access difficult. The remote location and basic amenities make this campground best suited for self-sufficient campers seeking a more primitive camping experience.
