The have issued an Air Quality Alert until 11 AM PDT Thursday. An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Kittitas, Klickitat, Walla Walla and Yakima Counties until further notice due to expected wildfire smoke from regional fires. Expect some clearing out and intermittent good air quality but with significant fires on the landscape conditions can worsen quickly to unhealthy air. Be sure to check air monitors in your area before outdoor activities. People can take the following precautions to protect their health: * Follow local burn restrictions to prevent deteriorating air quality. * Avoid strenuous outdoor activity in smoky conditions. * People with heart or lung problems and young children are especially vulnerable. These people should stay indoors while smoke levels are high. * Use certified High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters in indoor heating ventilation, cooling, and air purification systems. * Avoid using wood-burning stoves and other sources of indoor smoke if possible. The Washington State Department of Ecology, Benton Clean Air Agency, and the Yakima Regional Clean Air Agency have issued an Air Quality Alert until further notice. For the Smoke Air Quality Alert, wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition. Barton Creek campground is a Forest Service facility located in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Yakima County, Washington. The campground sits in the rugged terrain of the eastern Cascade Range, where the forest transitions from dense old-growth valleys to high alpine peaks. The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest encompasses over 3.8 million acres of diverse landscapes along the east slope of the Cascades. As a smaller, more remote Forest Service campground, Barton Creek offers a rustic camping experience typical of national forest facilities in the region. The area features mixed conifer forests and provides access to the natural beauty of the Cascades. The campground's location in Yakima County places it within reach of numerous recreational opportunities including hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Like many Forest Service campgrounds at higher elevations in the Cascades, Barton Creek operates seasonally, typically closing during winter months when snow and road conditions make access difficult. The remote location and basic amenities make this campground best suited for self-sufficient campers seeking a more primitive camping experience.

Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa is located just outside of downtown Austin, Texas, on 4,000 acres in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. To get there, travel to 8212 Barton Club Drive, Austin, Texas 78735. The resort is about 18 miles (approximately 30 minutes) from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and can be accessed by major Austin roads following directions toward Barton Club Drive.
