About

Located just across the Current River from Cedar Grove, Dee Murray Campground is a primitive backcountry site in the Upper Current section of Ozark National Scenic Riverways. The campground features 5 sunny campsites, all within walking distance of river access that stays bustling with canoes, kayaks, and rafts during summer months. A nearby gravel bar is vehicle-free, offering a more peaceful riverside experience. As a backcountry campground, Dee Murray provides basic amenities including vault toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, and lantern posts. There is no potable water on-site, so campers must bring their own supply. The area offers excellent opportunities for blue ribbon fishing and access to hiking trails in the surrounding Ozark landscape. Reservations are required for all backcountry sites and must be made through Recreation.gov. The nightly fee is $10 per standard site accommodating up to 6 people. To reach the campground from Jadwin, drive west on State Highway ZZ for about 5.3 miles, cross the concrete river crossing, and turn left onto NPS Road 109.
