About

Montauk State Park Campground sits at the headwaters of the Current River in the scenic Missouri Ozarks, offering year-round camping in a shady, green retreat known for exceptional trout fishing. The park's springs combine with Pigeon Creek to supply over 40 million gallons of cold spring water daily, creating ideal conditions for rainbow trout and making this one of Missouri's four premier trout fishing destinations. The campground features multiple loops with both basic and electric campsites, including 50-amp service options and family campsites for those wanting extra space. Modern amenities include restrooms with showers and coin-operated laundry facilities in Loops 1, 2, and 4. Frost-free water spigots remain operational year-round, ensuring access to water even during winter months. The campground offers firewood for purchase from an on-site woodlot. Beyond fishing, visitors can explore three scenic trails for hiking and biking, tour the historic 1896 grist mill, enjoy picnic areas and shelters, or dine at the park's modern dining lodge. The park store carries camping supplies and necessities. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks system, with some walk-up availability for unreserved sites.
