About

Montauk State Park Campground is nestled at the headwaters of the famed Current River in the Missouri Ozarks, where natural springs deliver more than 40 million gallons of crystal-clear water daily. The campground operates four distinct loops: Loop 1 offers basic and family sites, while Loops 2, 3, and 4 provide electric sites with 50-amp, 30-amp, and 20-amp service options. Family campsites feature double camping pads with doubled utilities for larger groups. Modern facilities are concentrated in Loops 1 and 4, which include shower houses, laundry facilities, dump stations, and wood lots. All loops feature restrooms, running water with frost-free spigots, and accessible facilities. Seasonal amenities including showers and water hookups operate from February 25 through October 31. The park offers exceptional rainbow trout fishing, a historic gristmill built in 1896, three hiking and biking trails, a dining lodge, park store, and picnic areas with shelters. Pets are permitted with a maximum of two dogs per campsite on leashes no longer than 10 feet.
