Prohibited by this order: Possessing, storing, or transporting non-pelletized hay, straw, or mulch in the Intermountain Region, unless it is certified as weed free by the state where the product originated.

This Order applies to all National Forest System lands and roads within the Boise National Forest for purposes of public health and safety.
Flat Fire GNA Salvage Road and Trail Closure
The purpose of this Order is to protect public safety during timber operations near the Flat Fire burn area. These will be in effect from June 20 through December 31, 2025.
Lowman Ranger District Dispersed Camping Area Closure

About
Deadwood Campground is a small 6-site facility situated at the scenic confluence of the Deadwood River and South Fork of the Payette River along Banks-Lowman Road (State Highway 17), also known as the Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway. The campground sits at the foot of a forested hillside with towering ponderosa pines scattered throughout, offering partial shade and summer wildflowers dotting the landscape. The campground serves as both a camping destination and river access point for whitewater enthusiasts. The South Fork Payette River offers excellent opportunities for rafting, kayaking, and fishing, with several local companies providing guided trips. The Deadwood Ridge trailhead is located within the campground, providing hiking access to the surrounding Boise National Forest. Camping use at this site is moderate. Nearby attractions include numerous natural hot springs pools along the Banks-Lowman Highway, scenic views, wildlife watching opportunities, and historical information kiosks. The area is part of the Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway, offering exceptional mountain scenery and outdoor recreation. Due to limited driveway lengths, the campground is best suited for smaller RVs and camp trailers under 15 feet.
Directions
From Boise, travel State Highway 55 north 38 miles to Banks. Turn east onto State Highway 17 (Banks-Lowman Road) and proceed approximately 30 miles to the campground.
