About

Horsethief Group Sites is a BLM campground located 25 minutes from Moab on Highway 313, offering five reservable group campsites designed for smaller gatherings of 10-20 people. The campground sits at 5,500 feet elevation among pinyon and juniper trees, providing open vistas with excellent sunrise and sunset views. Group Site #39 is located in the main Horsethief Campground, while Sites A, B, C, and D are in an adjacent area specifically designed for tent and van campers. Each group site includes shade shelters, picnic tables, and fire rings with grates. Vault toilets are dispersed throughout the campground, and a dumpster is available at the group sites. The campground has no potable water, showers, dump station, or hookups. Group Site A offers the best accessibility with concrete pathways, accessible toilets, accessible picnic tables, and elevated tent pads. The campground cannot accommodate RVs, motorhomes, campers, or trailers. Parking is limited to six sedans or small vans per site. The location provides convenient access to Canyonlands National Park's Island in the Sky District, Dead Horse Point State Park, and Arches National Park, all within a 15-minute drive. Groups heading into Canyonlands to ride the White Rim trail often use this campground before and after their trip.
