About

Lone Mesa Group Sites is a Bureau of Land Management group campground ideal for large gatherings such as school groups, family reunions, or outdoor clubs. The campground features five group sites: Sites A through E accommodate 30-40 people each, with Site A including a horse corral for equestrian groups. Each site includes fire grates, picnic tables, vault toilets, shade shelters, and spacious parking areas suitable for larger vehicles. The location sits approximately 1,000 feet higher in elevation than Moab, providing slightly cooler temperatures during summer months. The town of Moab is about 30 minutes away and offers dining, shopping, gear rentals, and tour companies. Groups heading into Canyonlands National Park to ride the White Rim Trail frequently use Lone Mesa as a base camp before and after their trips. Nearby recreation opportunities abound, including Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse Point State Park, Gemini Bridges trails, and Mineral Bottom on the Green River. The area features numerous four-wheel drive roads leading to scenic canyons and vistas, with options for mountain biking, hiking, photography, and backcountry exploration.

Directions

From Moab, drive nine miles north on Highway 191 to the intersection with Highway 313. Turn west on Highway 313 and drive eight miles, then turn right on Dubinky Well Road and go approximately 200 yards to the campground entrance road. Turn right and proceed up a small hill to the site.
