Closed

Currently closed for the season. Cut Bank typically opens in late May or early June, depending on road and weather conditions, and closes in late September. First-come, first-served only; Scan & Pay via the Recreation.gov app is required for payment.

About

Cut Bank Campground sits on Glacier National Park's quieter east side, providing a sense of solitude not found at the park's larger campgrounds. The 14 shaded sites are tucked among trees, offering privacy for tent campers seeking a more primitive experience. A 5-mile dirt road from Highway 89 leads to the campground, discouraging large RVs and keeping crowds minimal. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with payment required via the Recreation.gov Scan & Pay mobile app. Amenities are limited: vault toilets are available seasonally, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Fire grates are provided at sites, though fires must remain attended at all times. Trailheads near the campground provide access to day hikes and extended backcountry trips. Cut Bank typically opens in late May or early June, weather permitting, and closes in late September. Generator use is prohibited. Pets are allowed on leashes no longer than six feet. The remote location and primitive conditions make this an ideal choice for experienced campers seeking quiet and access to Glacier's eastern wilderness.

Directions

From Highway 89, approximately 5 miles north of East Glacier Park, turn west onto Cut Bank Road. Follow this unpaved road for 5 miles to the campground. RVs and vehicle combinations over 21 feet are not recommended due to the narrow, rough road and campground layout.
