About

Copper Range Campground offers a quiet, rustic camping experience in northern Wisconsin's Brule River State Forest. The 17-site campground sits adjacent to the Bois Brule River, one of the Midwest's premier trout streams and a historic canoe route. Fourteen sites accommodate tents and smaller RVs (back-in only), one site is wheelchair-accessible, and three walk-in sites cater specifically to paddlers. The campground provides essential amenities: centrally located vault toilets, hand-pump drinking water, fire rings at each site, and picnic tables. A canoe landing is within walking distance, making this an ideal base for river trips. Firewood is not provided but may be purchased from local vendors, brought in (certified), or gathered on-site from dead and down wood. Popular with anglers during spring and fall, Copper Range also provides access to the Historic Bayfield Road Trail across the river. The surrounding state forest offers additional opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and exploring the north woods landscape.
