About

Birch Grove Campground sits in a scenic woodland setting between East Twin Lake (22 acres) and West Twin Lake (16 acres) in the Washburn District of Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The campground provides a peaceful retreat for tent and RV campers seeking a quiet northwoods experience with easy lake access. The facility includes 16 campsites with defined parking spurs, fire rings, and picnic tables. Some sites include tent pads, and RVs up to 35 feet can be accommodated. Two sites have been converted to double sites with extra capacity. Amenities are basic but adequate: potable drinking water and vault toilets are provided. There are no hookups, showers, or dump station. Both lakes offer small boat launches suitable for canoes, kayaks, and other non-motorized watercraft. Fishing is popular for bass, panfish, and northern pike. Swimming access points are available along the lakeshore. In late summer, berry picking in the nearby Moquah Barrens is a popular activity. ATVs and UTVs are prohibited in the recreation area.
