Gooseberry Falls State Park Group Campground

Open

Open for the season. Group campsites operate mid-May through October, with reservations available up to 120 days in advance through Reserve Minnesota. Three tent-only group sites accommodate up to 50 people each.

About

Gooseberry Falls State Park Group Campground sits on Minnesota's North Shore, serving as a gateway to one of the state's most visited parks. The three tent-only group sites accommodate organized groups of up to 50 people each, making them ideal for family reunions, Scout troops, and club outings. The Pebble Creek site is particularly notable for its position along the Lake Superior shoreline. Each group site features shared parking, picnic tables, fire rings with cooking grills, and access to potable water. Vault toilets serve the group camping area. Modern restroom and shower facilities are not provided at the group camp itself, though seasonal flush toilets and showers are available in the main campground area from early May through mid-October. The park showcases spectacular waterfalls along the Gooseberry River, historic Civilian Conservation Corps log and stone structures, and miles of hiking trails through forests of evergreen, aspen, and birch. Visitors can explore the river gorge, relax along the Lake Superior shoreline, or hike to see the Fifth Falls. Firewood must be purchased at the park or from approved vendors to prevent the spread of invasive species.
