Areas of dense fog, with visibilities of one quarter mile or less, will continue or expand across the area overnight. The worst conditions are currently along and north of highway 29, but could develop further south. The dense fog is expected to continue through Tuesday morning before slowly lifting. Motorists traveling across the region overnight into Tuesday morning can expect rapidly changing and poor visibilities at times. This fog will likely affect the Tuesday morning commute. Remember to turn on your low-beam headlights and allow extra distance between you and the car in front of you.
About
Clear Lake Campground sits on the southwest shore of Clear Lake in the southern portion of the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest. Sites 701-801 provide a mix of standard sites, walk-to tent-only sites (704-710, 732-733), and double campsites (722-723, 737-738, 739-740, 781-782) that accommodate up to 12 people. The campground has paved roadways, one flush toilet building with showers, six vault toilet buildings, and six hand pumps providing potable water. A large sandy beach with a marked swimming area, boat landing with trailer parking, picnic area, and reservable shelter enhance the lakefront experience. A hard-surfaced nature trail and nature center are nearby. The paved Heart of Vilas County bike trail runs through the campground, connecting to Firefly Lake Campground and extending to Boulder Junction in one direction and past St. Germain in the other. The campground operates year-round but with limited winter access. During winter months, only sites 701-703 have plowed driveways; other roads and driveways remain unplowed. Firewood is available for purchase at the campground. Reservations are required and can be made through wisconsin.goingtocamp.com up to 11 months in advance.
