Ranger Station

Open — The Ranger Station is currently open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Due to a water main break, the adjacent campground is not accepting new reservations and has no water currently available.

Perimeter Trail Closed

The section of the perimeter trail from the .8 mile marker to the 1.9 mile marker at Park Central Road is closed for repairs. This trail was closed under emergency conditions on July 22, 2025, and will remain closed until December 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

South Parking Lot of Greenbelt Park Closed to Vehicle Access

This area will be closed to vehicle access from 12:00 a.m. May 9, 2025, and continuing until September 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. The area will remain available to pedestrians.

Restroom Closures at Greenbelt Park

Restrooms at the Laurel and Holly Picnic Areas will be closed April 15–November 15, 2025, and remain closed afterward per the Superintendent’s Compendium schedule.

About

The Ranger Station at Greenbelt Park is positioned at the entrance to the campground, approximately two miles from the park headquarters and main park entrance off Greenbelt Road. This facility serves as the administrative hub for the campground and provides visitor services including information, brochures, and ranger assistance. The station is staffed seven days a week and houses the official NPS Passport stamp for the park. Rangers are available to assist with campground questions, park information, and general visitor needs. The station is easily accessible from the park entrance by taking a right at the stop sign and proceeding two miles to the campground area.

Directions

From I-95/495 Capital Beltway, take Exit 23 Kenilworth Avenue South to Greenbelt Road East. The park entrance is a quarter mile down Greenbelt Road on the right. Upon arrival at the park entrance, proceed to the stop sign, take a right, and continue two miles to the Ranger Station near the campground.
