Cape Perpetua
Open for the 2026 season, operating March through September. Reservations available through Recreation.gov; some sites are first-come, first-served. The Cape Perpetua Visitor Center is temporarily closed for remodel through May 2026, though the parking lot, restrooms, and trails remain accessible.
Alcohol Prohibitions
This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.
Aquatic Invasive Species
This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.
Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products

About
Cape Perpetua Campground occupies a prime location in the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, positioned between the dense forests of Siuslaw National Forest and the rugged Oregon coastline. The 39 campsites are arranged along Cape Creek under a canopy of old-growth Sitka spruce, Douglas fir, and alder. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with flush toilets and hand-pump drinking water available throughout the campground. A 23-mile trail network begins at the campground, offering routes through ancient forest to dramatic coastal features. Popular destinations include the Giant Spruce, one of the largest trees on the Oregon Coast, and the St. Perpetua viewpoint at 803 feet elevation. The Cape Perpetua Visitor Center is a short hike from camp and features interpretive exhibits and an outdoor viewing deck with panoramic ocean views. The campground operates seasonally from March through September. Sites are reservable through Recreation.gov, with some available first-come, first-served. The location provides convenient access to tidepools, whale watching, and Highway 101 exploration along this scenic stretch of coastline.
Directions
Located on Highway 101, 22 miles north of Florence, Oregon and 3 miles south of Yachats, Oregon. Turn east off Highway 101 into the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, then take a right at the split following signs to Cape Perpetua Campground.
